About the Role

Caraniche have an exciting opportunity for a Clinician (Psychologist or Social Worker) to join our clinical team at Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre. The successful clinician will deliver assessment and treatment services to young people. This includes co-facilitation of group programs, individual interventions to address criminogenic needs, psychosocial interventions to assist in skills development and case consultation with support workers. In order to provide excellence in clinical delivery it is essential that a flexible, autonomous approach is applied.

About You

The role requires a Provisional Psychologist/Psychologist/Social Worker with experience working with young people and/or working within a forensic setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing an exceptional level of holistic care to improve the health and wellbeing of some of Victoria’s most vulnerable youth, and to providing a safe environment to facilitate current best practice in forensic intervention.

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Full or Provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency or relevant professional board
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident working in a complex, changing environment
  • Flexible and agile approach to work
  • A strong desire for professional development
  • Commitment to Child Safe Standards and Practices.

Preferable

  • Experience working with a youth or forensic population.
  • Experience in the assessment, diagnosis, case formulation and treatment of criminogenic needs and forensic needs of youth population
  • Experience with group intervention
  • Proficient in the use of information technology
