Caraniche:

With 25 years in the field, Caraniche is a specialist provider of a broad range of mental health and consultancy services across Australia. At the heart of everything we do are connections that better lives. We deliver a range of specialist psychological services to government, private and not-for-profit organisations.

We work with some of the most marginalised people in our community to help get their lives back on track through alcohol and drug counselling, specialised services for youth, and behaviour change programs. We are the state-wide drug and alcohol treatment provider in Victoria’s public prisons, and the Victorian state-wide provider of Youth Justice Programs and Services to the youth justice sector. We also work with employers across Australia to deliver leading workplace wellbeing programs, including Employee Assistance Programs and Critical Incident Response.

Our vision is to make connections that better lives.

Who we are looking for?

Are you a dynamic clinician with experience providing group and individual AOD counselling? Would you like to join an established and supportive team where your skills will assist our clients to make positive, strength-based change to their lives? Do you have experience working with forensic clients? This may be the role for you!

We are currently seeking a Clinician with experience providing alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment/counselling to join Caraniche's CARE team based primarily in Abbotsford.

About the Role

CARE@BCP has a team of clinicians who provide group and individual AOD treatment to primarily forensic and some voluntary clients who reside in the Inner North, North, and North West catchments of metro Melbourne, as outlined by DHHS. This treatment includes AOD counselling to offenders with AOD issues who are mandated to attend treatment as part of their Corrections order, Comprehensive AOD Assessment and care co-ordination as well as the Kickstart and Choices group programs and Vic Roads Drink and Drug Driver programs.

Working as part of the CARE@BCP team and reporting to the Senior Psychologist, the Clinician will deliver assessment, group and individual counselling and care co-ordination to a client population that includes males and females; a range of ethnic and religious groups; a range of forensic/offending histories and various dual diagnosis issues. Interventions provided may be short term, episodic, long-term, individual or group-based.

Further duties include report writing, referral to other services, case noting, office administration, and liaising with other professionals and services. Treatment services are provided in line with the Caraniche model of care, which includes regular individual and group supervision as well as continuing professional development opportunities.

Why apply?

There is unlimited opportunity to develop your counselling/clinical skills with a supportive, multidisciplinary team who strive to be a leading provider in AOD treatment services across Victoria.
