About the Role:

The Caraniche CARE Team are looking for an enthusiastic and independent clinician to join the team on a part time basis. We are open to clinicians who have availability from 2 days up to 4 days per week. The role is based in the West (Melton and Sunshine) across both the with scope for possible expansion.

CARE has a team of clinicians based out of from Caraniche’s head office, the Neighbourhood Justice Centre, Melton CCS and Sunshine CCS office servicing the Inner North and North West regions as outlined by DHHS. This team currently deliver AOD counselling to offenders with AOD issues who are mandated to attend treatment as part of their Corrections order.

Working as part of the CARE team and reporting to the Senior Psychologist, the Clinician will see a client population that includes males and females; a range of ethnic and religious groups; a range of forensic/offending histories and various dual diagnosis issues. Interventions may be short term, episodic, long-term, individual or group-based. Further duties include report writing, referral to other services, case noting, office administration, and liaising with other professionals and services.

The Clinician will work for Caraniche from Melton CCS as well as Sunshine CCS but will be supported by the CARE team. Treatment services are provided in line with the Caraniche model of care, which includes regular individual supervision as well as continuing professional development opportunities.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Experience providing AOD treatment to complex clients
  • High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident working in a complex, changing environment
  • Flexible and agile approach to work
  • Current & Valid Driver’s License

Preferable:

  • Experience working with forensic clients (highly desirable).
  • Capacity to work one after hours evening per week
