Your New Role

We are seeking an experienced and robust Team Leader in Disability in the inner Southern Suburbs. You will have strong leadership and people management skills to manage a team of dedicated Community Support Workers to support our customers receiving NDIS services in a residential setting. The role will require you to have flexibility to work over a 7-day, 24-hour roster.

In this role you will have a person-centred approach with a focus on active support principles. This role may ideally suit if you have a background in Nursing.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in leading and motivating a team
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring staff
  • Experience supporting individuals living with a disability
  • Sound understanding of person-centred philosophy and practice
  • Experience supporting customers with high and complex health support needs (inclusive of manual handling)
  • Experience working in a residential setting
  • Knowledge of the NDIS
  • Experience liaising with internal and external stake-holders to ensure continuity of care and support needs of customers are met
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An influencer and good listener
  • Values driven, warm, caring, resilient and grounded
  • Highly proficient computer skills

Essential Criteria

  • Current DHS/DCSI Disability Employment and Child Related Employment Clearance / Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Certificate IV in Individual Support or related qualification in Disability or Nursing
  • Certificate in IV in Business/Frontline Management or equivalent
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003)
  • Current South Australian Driver’s Licence
