Canteen provides young people impacted by cancer, and their parents, with access to a team of Allied Health Professionals who deliver programs, counselling and a range of other group and individual support activities.

The team at Canteen assist these young people to access the support they need to develop and maintain the skills and confidence to live healthy and happy lives.

Canteen also engages in community awareness and seeks to develop awareness of cancer support for young people around Australia. Canteen aims to create highly accessible, youth-friendly, integrated service hubs as well as a range of online supports, that provide evidence-based interventions and support to young people aged 12–25 years impacted by cancer.

JOB SUMMARY

This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team at Canteen as the organisation continues to invest in diversifying fundraising portfolios to augment one of the most successful regular giving programs in Australia.

The Strategic Relationships Manager will join a dynamic team with the aim to secure significant revenue through grant writing, and acquire and steward key strategic fundraising contacts. Reporting to the National Partnerships Manager, this role will also work very closely with 2 other Strategic Relationship Managers, and national portfolio managers across Major Gifts, Corporate, Community and Planned Giving. As an experienced grant writer, you will be joining an adaptive and agile environment where skill sets will be matched with opportunity to help build and maintain remarkable supporter relationships.

The role includes both strategic and operational responsibilities as well as relationship and revenue related KPIs.

Please note that there is flexibility for this role to be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related field or relevant experience

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience in coordinating research projects; Demonstrated project management experience and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience securing significant revenue through grant development, writing and relationship management.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills and experience
  • Proven experience in managing large strategic partnerships, working with people of influence and/or high net worth
  • Experience with, and an understanding of, the corporate sector
  • Exposure and success in commercial negotiations
  • Strong ability to network, build relationships and negotiate at a senior level
  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills
  • First class presentation and public speaking skills
  • Ability to prepare and present information in a clear, logical, and compelling way
