About your opportunity

We are looking for a Legal Research Officer to join the McCabe Centre for Law & Cancer within the Strategy & Support Division. This is a 0.8FTE, parental leave contract position at Band E.

Specifically, your role is to:

  • Conduct comprehensive legal and policy research and analysis and prepare high-quality written materials for a range of target audiences including governments and intergovernmental organisations
  • Develop and deliver training curricula and materials, and seminars, lectures and presentations, in person or online, as required
  • Participate in follow-up activities of information-sharing and provide support for the McCabe Centre alumni network and other technical support requests referred via the Knowledge Hub

All about you

We are looking for a person with:

  • A degree in law and a current practising certificate or eligibility for admission to practice and demonstrated relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis
  • Demonstrated excellent legal and policy writing skills
  • Familiarity with international law
