Division summary

The Strategy and Support Division comprises of Cancer Information and Support Services, Research Governance and Optimal Care, Cancer Strategy, McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, Marketing and Communications and Business Management.

The purpose of the Division is to minimise the impact of cancer on the Victorian community now and into the future.

This Digital Content Producer will be part the Marketing and Communications team within the Strategy and Support division, providing cancer information, marketing and communications services to the whole division.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a creative writer with extensive experience in developing content for digital platforms. You love to work to deadlines and can efficiently deliver content in tight timeframes and with multiple stakeholders. Reporting to the Strategic Lead Marketing and Communications, your role is to:

  • Identify, create and adapt cancer information resources for digital platforms including website, social media and email communications.
  • Use best-practice user experience design principles to deliver relevant and creative digital content to engage our external stakeholders.
  • Work with the Cancer Information Coordinator to adapt key print publications for Cancer Council Victoria’s website and keep online information up to date with the latest revisions.
  • Conduct interviews with people affected by cancer to share their experiences to show the impact of our programs and illustrate where improvements are needed to inform our policy and advocacy work.

About you

We are seeking someone with:

  • A tertiary degree or qualification in marketing, communications, journalism or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written communication skills including outstanding attention to detail and experience in reworking content in various styles for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience using content management systems and high level of competency updating web content using best practice methodology.
  • Strong understanding of health literacy and communications principles, strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • High level planning and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and achieve targets.
