The Strategy and Support Division comprises the units of Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS), Research Governance and Optimal Care (RGOC), Cancer Strategy, McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer and Business Management. The purpose of the Division is to minimise the impact of cancer on the Victorian community. It works to empower people by delivering dynamic, credible, personalised information and compassionate support.

About your opportunity

We are looking for a Coordinator – Peer Support Programs to join the Strategy and Support Division. Reporting to the Manager – Supportive Care Programs, you will be job-sharing with a colleague who works at 0.2FTE.

Your role is to: 

  • Contribute to program strategy development and innovation through data analysis, consultation and governance review
  • Identify gaps in service and collaboration opportunities
  • Support Cancer Support Group Leaders by responding to enquiries or issues
  • Plan and implement training and updates for new or existing Cancer Support Group Leaders

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing, Health, Social Work, or related discipline
  • Substantial experience in the development and delivery of peer support or health programs, including experience working with volunteers
  • Proven experience developing and delivering training and new program models
  • Proven ability to critically appraise, evaluate and re-design programs for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and management skills, including influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated experience in dealing with potentially complex emotional concerns
