The McCabe Centre for Law and Canceris a joint initiative of Cancer Council and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Its mission is to promote the effective use of law for cancer prevention, treatment, supportive care and research globally. The McCabe Centre conducts research, policy development and training and develops and disseminates materials on the relationship between law and cancer control. The McCabe Centre collaborates with key international organisations such as the World Health Organisation.

About your opportunity:

We are seeking a Communications Manager to join the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer. Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Operations, your role is to:

  • Drive the development and delivery of the McCabe Centre’s communications strategy
  • Identify and establish new communications, platforms and systems to support delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Manage the promotion of the McCabe Centre and its activities to key stakeholders and audiences, including through communications materials and national and international events

All about you:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Substantial experience of working in communications and related roles
  • Solid understanding of media
  • Experience in/knowledge of non-profit or international organisations
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High motivation and the ability to work autonomously
