Within the Behavioural Science Division, the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer (CBRC) conducts high quality applied behavioural research and evaluation to inform and influence cancer control policies, programs and services. Under the leadership of Professor Melanie Wakefield AO, the Centre has an international reputation as a key provider of cancer prevention evidence, with active programs of research underway in tobacco control, skin cancer prevention, obesity prevention, alcohol harm reduction and cancer screening.

Your opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Administration Coordinator, experienced in office administration, to provide high quality support to the team in CBRC. Reporting to the CBRC Office Manager, your role is to:

  • Process CBRC financial transactions including preparing invoices, receipting payments and maintaining financial records
  • Coordinate CBRC seminars, events and meetings, including arranging CBRC air and ground travel bookings, conference registrations and accommodation.
  • Support researchers in the creation of presentations and major documents
  • Undertake general administration duties including support to human resources processes, records and archive management, equipment and systems maintenance and CBRC communications processes.

Bring your attention to detail, excellent time management, and prioritisation skills to perform this critical role, providing dedicated support for the CBRC team.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or substantial experience working in an administration role requiring sound judgement and attention to detail
  • Experience in financial processing and monitoring
  • High level IT skills including word processing, file and calendar management, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.
  • Previous experience managing competing demands while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
