Our client is a small to medium organisation with 3 not-for-profit and foundation entities. They are actively involved in community development for a wide range of issues from homelessness and refugees to the arts and youth civics. They offer assistance such as university scholarships and give support to schools as well as early childhood education centres. They are now seeking a hands-on and passionate General Manager to report to the CEO.

This is a newly created role for an experienced Manager to take over from the CEO and lead the NFP divisions in a growing environment. This key role will focus on expanding social impact and providing their community with a wider range of opportunities.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Taking over from the CEO in managing events plus all fundraising partnerships
  • Working alongside other areas of the business (including marketing, finance and governance) in developing community engagement plans, events and budgets etc
  • Managing and coordinating various social impact projects
  • Using your strong business development and relationship management skills to create, nurture and maintain strong working connections with other NFPs and community groups
  • Responsibility for the execution of all strategic plans
  • Financials: budgeting, forecasting and donor management
  • Ensuring the organisation's regulatory requirements, legal guidelines and other policies are adhered to

To be successful in this role the skills and attributes we are seeking include:

  • Previous experience as a General Manager / CEO with excellent knowledge of general management best practices
  • Experience working within the NFP sector (essential)
  • A passion for social impact and community engagement
  • Cultural affinity with the Muslim community - either you have had interaction with the Muslim community or else you have a deep understanding of the community
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including reports and presentations to the Board
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Outstanding relationship building, management and engagement skills
