You will deliver advice, case management, parenting skills, group work and early intervention services that enhance family functioning and improve the wellbeing of children and young people. Duties for this 20 hour per week position include, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver information advice & referral for children, young people, and families in Lake Macquarie
  • Provide comprehensive Targeted Early Intervention case management support and parenting skills including assessment, planning and review to children, young people, and their families
  • Facilitate evidence-based group work
  • Maintain client records and data collection using sound judgement, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Identify, respond, and report child protection concerns

We are looking for:

  • Degree level qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or Equivalent
  • Experience in Targeted Early Intervention (TEI) case management and family support with a focus on child and family safe outcomes, working within a Strengths Based Framework
  • Understanding and commitment to work respectfully, effectively, and creatively with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, and joint work with Aboriginal communities
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver’s license with good driving record
  • Training in evidence-based facilitation of early intervention programs such as Triple P, Seasons for Growth, 1 2 3 Magic and Emotion Coaching, Circles of Security or similar
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team commitment, verbal & written communication, and resilience
  • Willingness to share initiatives to enhance cross project collaboration and best practice
