WHO ARE WE?

At Challenges Abroad Australia (CAA) our mission is to ignite compassion and to create a generation of global citizens. We do this through providing structured overseas community programs for young adults including group programs, virtual internships, individual experiences, and overseas internships in 6 destinations. We offer university promoted programs that are linked to course credit as well as student led experiences as part of our Challenge Leader program.

Our aim is to excel in creating innovative overseas programs that are mutually beneficial to both the local community and our volunteers and to become known as the organisation of choice in Australia for responsible overseas volunteering.

Every CAA program supports the goals and objectives of our international development charity The FutureSense Foundation and has an equally profound impact on the community as it does student participants. We take our volunteers outside their comfort zone and into unique and vibrant cultures where they are able to share their skills on meaningful real-world programs.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an energetic, passionate person to join our small and dynamic team. As we navigate into the post-COVID world in relation to international opportunities, we’re looking for someone who can use their initiative, flexibility, and creative skills to support various aspects of the organisation. When it comes to impactful short term international mobility programs, we want to be the organisation of choice for Australian universities. The UPPM’s role will be focused on fostering existing university partnerships and developing new partnerships to increase the number of students travelling out on credit bearing programs. The UPPM will mostly work remotely from their base and be required to travel to visit various universities across Australia. The role offers a lot of responsibility, independence, and the opportunity to develop personally and professionally. Not to mention the amazing opportunities to travel overseas to see our programs first-hand!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Maintaining and strengthening existing university partnerships and programs
• Developing new university partnerships across Australia to offer credit bearing international programs for their students
• Increase the number of students travelling on credit bearing programs
• Support student groups to develop into Global Citizens through preparation and mentoring
• Coordinate promotional material
• Writing and applying for grants relevant to international student mobility
• Adhering to and improving on existing processes relevant to university and student support
• Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to develop programs and the relevant documentation and promotional material
• Supporting the planning, designing, and implementing our bi-annual student Leadership Conference
• You will work alongside our Student Engagement Team to support marketing activities and the sales process

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will need to be a motivated individual, with exceptional interpersonal skills and a professional manner. We would expect you to have:

• Previous experience working in the university mobility sector or a demonstrated in-depth understanding of the sector
• Experience promoting products to students
• At least 2-4 years of experience in a similar industry or role
• Personal experience of travelling and volunteering overseas
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to create and deliver engaging presentations
• The ability to work independently and remotely

WHAT WILL YOU EARN?

This is a full-time role with on target earnings estimated at $75k. The package will be tailored to the individuals background and experience. This role can be based in various locations, in QLD, NSW or VIC.

A start date of early-mid November 2021 is expected.
