Remote / Work from Home
Climate for Change (C4C) is a volunteer-powered not-for-profit based in Melbourne. Our mission is to create the social mandate in Australia for effective action on climate change. To do this we use a ‘Tupperware party’ style model of small gatherings in people’s homes (currently virtual due to risks associated with COVID-19), each of which generates at least one more. This is a unique model within the climate movement that allows both deep engagement and exponential growth.
As an organisation we aim to bring climate change to the forefront of public concern by: reaching out to people who are sympathetic to action, but not yet engaged with or active on the issue; then inspiring and supporting them to take effective action and to have `meaningful conversations with their family and friends about climate change.
We are the only organisation in Australia dedicated to supporting people to have more effective conversations about climate change.
Further information is available at our website: www.climateforchange.org.au.
We’re seeking 4-5 individuals who share our vision, values and with either of the following skills and experiences to join our board of directors (board):
The board works closely with the Co-Chief Executive Officers (Co-CEOs) and plays a key role in the governance of the organisation, serving as the guardian of C4C’s mission and values while ensuring compliance with relevant statutory laws and regulations, and effective risk management.
According to our rules, board members are required to be financial members of C4C, membership fees are $48 per year.
Climate for Change is committed to building a diverse board. We strongly encourage applicants from a diverse range of genders, cultures, language groups, abilities, and experiences to apply.
Although C4C is a Melbourne-based organisation, we will consider applications from around Australia.
