The Supporter Engagement team is a multi-faceted team, committed to building rapport with supporters to deliver a highly personalised experience to a large number of supporters consistently.
We’re looking for someone with the know-how, passion, and commitment to inspire our faithful supporters to action on poverty… is it you?

As part of the Supporter Engagement team, you will intentionally build relationships with supporters via phone and other platforms to drive loyalty and lifetime value and help keep us front and centre of mind with our supporters. You thrive on talking to people, and connect with people from all walks of life easily. This role is to proactively contact current supporters through several platforms seeking their support either financial, in prayer or advocacy actions.
You’re a people person
People energise you. You are able to make a conversation with anyone wherever you are, you do this when you are not at work, so making conversation at work will come easily to you. You particularly enjoy conversation with older people and can relate to them with ease.
You’re an “energiser bunny”
We go and go and don’t give up. We never stop caring, have a strong sense of curiosity. You also want to grow, the stories of our supporters transform us too.
You’re fast and slow

You are able to treat each supporter as though you have all the time in the world for them.
You’re a talker (and a listener)
You’re a chatter box. You are a gifted and empathetic communicator. You have an excellent phone manner, able to build instant rapport. You are also able to listen carefully to ensure our supporters needs are heard and acted upon.
You’re a fast learner
You can learn our big story and approach to development. You’re known for being exceptional at taking complex ideas and distilling them down to simple and “pitchable” concepts. You will are able to pick up and learn the intricacy of all of our organisation so that you are ready to answer anything. You will be willing to learn a phone script and deliver it with confidence. Ad-libing is not in our code of conduct, so you will be onboard with learning the Why behind the way we do our work and promote the big story in everything you do.
You’re a team player
You will be working as part of a team to share the stories of our partners’ in the field to help build relationships with our supporters and drive donations towards our busiest appeals. You will need to be a team player, together we know we can achieve more than we can alone and for you this means being willing to help a teammate if they’re falling behind or need a hand.
You’re flexible and adaptable and dedicated
Our team is on the front line, and plans can change quickly. We value people being able to roll with change, push up their sleeves and go with what needs to be done at the time even if it wasn’t the original plan.
You’re wise
You will have the ability to effectively and maturely handle sensitive situations via phone or email as they arise without help, but also know when to escalate an issue.
You’re tech savvy
You will need to be able to manage multiple platforms of information in order to be able to complete your work and report on the impact of your work. You have fast and reliable internet at home.
You are a Jesus follower
You have a personal faith, and it’s evident to people around you. You actively participate in the ministry of your church community where praying for others is a natural extension of your faith life. Doing as much over the phone for supporters you don’t “know” doesn’t daunt you. As a Christian, you’ll share our vision for a world without poverty as God intends… and participate enthusiastically organisation wide times of prayer, and biblical reflection sessions.
