bout the organisation

Butterfly Foundation is Australia’s national charity for eating disorders and body image issues, providing a voice for those affected and the people who care for them. Eating disorders are severe and complex mental illnesses with physical complications, and the medical, psychological, physical and social consequences can be long term and for many, life threatening.

Butterfly advocates for improved services from government, health and mental health organisations and the eating disorder sector, raising awareness in the media, with key stakeholders and via community engagement. Butterfly runs Australia’s only national Helpline for eating disorders and body image issues, supporting nearly 40,000 people every year; delivers evidence-based clinical treatment and support programs; and provides prevention initiatives in schools and the community to combat negative body image issues.

About the role

This is an exciting new role that has come about as a result of Butterfly expanding the fundraising team. The role is mainly responsible for managing Butterfly’s corporate partnerships and trust & foundation grants programs.

  • Managing an existing portfolio of partners to ensure long term support and steady income growth. This includes managing all reporting requirements, partnership agreements and pitching for renewed partnerships.
  • Creating new business development initiatives aimed at the acquisition of new partners. This includes working with other Butterfly teams to identify suitable projects requiring support, creating proposals and pitching to corporate representatives.
  • Developing an annual grants calendar of available grant opportunities.
  • Working with other Butterfly teams to create cases for support to include in grant applications.
  • Assessing the viability of external consultants to support the trust and foundation program in its growth ambitions.
  • Managing and monitoring relevant budgets to ensure annual KPIs are met.
