ABOUT YOU

As a Work Health and Safety Officer, you will play a vital role in keeping our workplace safe and compliant. This role is ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and likes working with people across different teams and believes in a Safety First culture.

You’ll be involved in a range of activities, from helping maintain safety systems and conducting risk assessments to supporting our emergency management efforts. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to learn, and you’ll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture at Bundanon.

WHAT YOU WILL DO...

As the Work Health and Safety Officer at Bundanon, you will:

  • Support WHS Operations: Help implement and manage our safety systems, making sure everything is up-to-date and compliant with WHS policies
  • Assist with Safety Procedures: Support managers in conducting safety checks, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure our workplace stays safe for everyone.
  • Monitor and Report on Safety: Keep an eye on incident reports, hazards, and safety audits. You’ll generate regular reports to help us stay on top of any issues.
  • Emergency Management: Assist with emergency plans and help the Chief Warden ensure everything is ready in case of emergencies.
  • Engage with Our Teams: Work with staff to promote a strong safety culture, ensuring everyone is engaged and following safe work practices.
  • WHS Software Support: Provide basic troubleshooting and support for our WHS management software, helping staff stay on track with safety actions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR...

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent experience in operational WHS roles.
  • Thorough understanding of WHS legislation, principles, and procedures.
  • Practical experience in workplace safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite and WHS management software.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience with WHS Management Systems and software (e.g., Safety Champion).
  • Knowledge or experience in maintaining WHS systems within an organisation.
