We’re looking for a professional Senior Youth Development Coach with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a 6 months maximum term full-time basis, working 38 hours per week based in Broadmeadows.

THE ROLE

The Senior Youth Development Coach will deliver and coordinate the Youth Hubs and the Creating Futures for Youth programs across the North region of Melbourne. These programs support young people to realise and achieve their employment, education and training aspirations. As a Senior Youth Development Coach you will be responsible for direct service provision for Youth Hubs. The position provides direct support to program staff and works alongside the broader team to deliver on team outcomes and goals. 

  • Lead the team for the successful delivery of the Youth Hubs and Creating Futures for Youth programs 
  • Work in partnership with the team leadership group to drive an advantaged thinking approach to practice
  • Support the service delivery of the programs, through providing 1:1 and group coaching support to young people to progress into education, training and employment
  • Lead in creating referral pathways into programs, with local stakeholders including schools, training providers, community services and other government and nor government organisations

Salary will be in the range of $73,316.14 - $79,316.47 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for an who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, community development, youth work and/or education, or extensive relevant experience. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in coordinating and supervising staff and fostering staff learning and development. 
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge and understanding of policy and practice in the area of education, employment, homelessness, and disadvantage among young people in the Australian context 
  • Customer service focused
