We’re looking for a Senior Research Fellow with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week based in Fitzroy.

THE ROLE

The position will conduct and manage rigorous and relevant applied social research and policy analysis within the Work and Economic Security Team in BSL’s Research and Policy Centre. This role will lead key parts of the research and evaluation efforts relating to projects that focus on women’s economic security, financial wellbeing and inclusive employment.

  • Undertake research and evaluation of three related projects, with a focus on a three-year study about women, employment, economic security and financial wellbeing
  • Manage the design, development and preparation of both qualitative and quantitative data collection instruments
  • Contribute to publications
  • Contribute to and manage an evidence and knowledge base that furthers the work and economic security research and policy agenda.
  • Support RPC’s strategic leadership and management.
  • Manage and develop project staff, specifically the development of research assistants and interns working within the WES team.

Salary will be in the range of $102,007.67 to $111,397.56 per annum based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for a Senior Research Fellow who has the following key skills and experience:

  • An appropriate post graduate qualification with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Well-developed knowledge of the field of inclusive employment, economic security or financial wellbeing, especially in relation to women, including current issues and debates in research and policy.
  • Well-developed understanding of the social research and policy environment, including contemporary issues.
  • Well-developed knowledge of relevant ethical research practices and codes.
  • Track record of publications (reports, journals and peer reviewed publications).
