We’re looking for a professional Grants and Tender Development Lead with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a 12 month maximum term full-time basis, working 38 hours per week based in Fitzroy.

THE ROLE

The Grants and Tender Development Lead is responsible for identifying and making recommendations on business development opportunities aligned to BSL’s strategic objectives and Community Programs’ strategic focus areas through strong coordination and collaboration.

Internal stakeholder interaction will be extensive. The role will support the Senior Manager, Operations in the coordination and facilitation of the internal Go / No Go process and ensure the relevant internal stakeholder contributions and sign-off’s are attained.

This role will have primary responsibility for developing, writing and editing of the grants and tender submission in consultation in with key stakeholders.

The role is a core part of the Community Programs’ operations team, working within a matrix structure with other Community Program Heads and Senior Managers to achieve grants and tender development outcomes.

Grants and Tender Development

  • Work both independently and in collaboration to provide an integrated approach to identifying business development and growth opportunities.
  • Analyse available data to provide insights about existing and potential business development opportunities to aid decision making processes.

Service Development and Funding Cycle Management

  • Participate in and contribute to departmental service development workshops to build CP knowledge bank of service models under consideration and development Approved: Jan 2022 : Director Community Programs.
  • Working with relevant teams to ensure service development is informed by community feedback, program trends and best practice.

Advocacy and Research

  • Keep abreast of media, research reports, policies and primary resources regarding all matters related to the addressing poverty alleviation in Australia.
  • Draft policy submissions advocacy papers, inquiry and correspondence to influence the external environment with opinion leaders and decision makers. 

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Foster, build and maintain collaborative, positive and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary will be in the range of $100,750.11 to $104,959.39 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • A relevant degree or successful relevant experience proactively contributing to a dynamic, fast paced team and providing high level support to a program, project or initiative.
  • Significant experience in administering a funding and/or grants scheme and/or demonstrated experience in research management and governance in a similar organisation.
  • Strong communication skills appropriate for a diverse cohort; the ability to clearly convey information and ideas in written and verbal form; and establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders; ability to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Highly developed organisational skills to meet deadlines and attention to detail; ability to prioritise a diverse workload; deal with ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances and new responsibilities.
  • Highly-developed administration, computer skills and competency in Microsoft Program.
