We’re looking for a professional Early Years Program Coordinator with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a full-time maximum term basis until 30th of June 2023, based in Fitzroy and with hybrid and flexible working hour options available, with the potential to extend (funding dependent).

THE ROLE

Whilst there is some hands-on delivery of Programs, the primary focus of this role is to develop, plan, coordinate and support staff in the effective delivery of Early Years Programs.

In this rewarding role you will supporting disadvantaged, refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and families whilst leading a team of up to five support workers and playgroup facilitators in a supportive and family friendly environment.

  • Coordinate the Early Years Programs (consisting of Playgroups, Family Learning Support Program, Parenting Program and activities) aligned to key outcomes
  • Provide practice supervision and support to up to 5 staff 
  • Develop innovative, inclusive playgroup and parenting session plans in collaboration with facilitators to deliver on sites
  • Work within and contribute to the practice framework with targeted outcomes and child safety in mind
  • Track, manage program development and delivery, using MEL tools
  • Work in collaboration with key partnerships to ensure effective integration of services across Connie Benn Centre and all our outreach areas (Municipalities include Yarra, Maribyrnong, Melbourne and Moonee Valley)

Salary will be in the range of $79,911.52 - $85,984.15 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications in Community and Children’s Services, Social Work, Community Development, Higher Degree in Early Years or Education.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in community services, not for profit organisations, Local Government, children’s services and playgroup settings.
  • Relevant experience in knowledge of child focused program delivery, parenting engagement and stakeholder engagement.
  • Awareness of Child Safety Practices and reporting practices.
  • Highly developed coordination, project management and report writing skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of Early Years Services and Children’s Practice Frameworks.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience managing Supported Playgroups and parenting programs.
  • Experience with ETO system.
  • Previous experience working with refugee, migrant and newly arrived families.
  • Ability to speak a community language other than English is highly desirable.
