We’re looking for a professional Community Engagement Coordinator with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a permanent part-time basis, working 30.4 hours per week based in Fitzroy.

THE ROLE

This position is responsible for overall Coordination of a variety of activities that support young people in Primary and Secondary School to achieve education engagement and positive pathways to success. We will provide a range of before, during and after school activities to Fitzroy and surrounding local schools in partnership.

  • Coordinate all day to day operations of the program, including provision of developmentally appropriate activities in a safe and socially inclusive environment.
  • Build, maintain, and work with key stakeholders including families, community members, schools, volunteers, local government and corporate partners to support the transition of the program to becoming a community led program.
  • Complete recruitment for new volunteers as well as consolidate on boarding and induction practices; as well as pathway opportunities, needs and up skilling 
  • Undertake volunteer management including recruitment, training, support and rostering.

Salary will be in the range of $74,531.95 to $80,194.32 pro rata per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for an Community Engagement Coordinator who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in either Community Development, Social Welfare, Social Work or similar discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, and within an integrated place based approach.
  • Experience working with refugee and migrant families experiencing multiple levels of disadvantage with a sound understanding of the ongoing settlement needs of children and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in building and maintaining strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. As well as building new partnerships, writing and presenting new proposals/ projects
