• Shaping the future for Autism

Amaze Inc aims to build understanding, engagement and acceptance of Autism in the Victorian community. Founded in 1967 as a not-for-profit association, it later became Autism Victoria Inc in 1999, and Amaze in 2013. Amaze is now the State’s peak body for Autism, providing independent, credible information and resources to autistic individuals, their families and supporters, training health professionals and employers, and advocating for improved government policy. With over 30 staff, Amaze has modern premises in Richmond.

With a major NDIS ILC grant, Amaze’s phone service Autism Connect is currently expanding to national coverage. Amaze’s free workshops, online resources, eSpectrum newsletter, and fee-for-service training programs serve the Autism community, employers and educators. Through its schools program HoodieUp, and its TV campaign Change Your Reactions, Amaze seeks to enhance community understanding of Autism, and playing a major role in influencing government action through regular advocacy.

Amaze seeks a proven leader who will further grow programs, develop medium-term financial sustainability, inspire and support an autism-friendly workplace, and deliver measurable outcomes towards achieving the vision set out in its 2040 Strategic Directions. Reporting to the Board, you will ideally have significant senior leadership and management experience in the disability, social or community sectors, excellent communications skills for engaging with government and the public, and an informed understanding of the challenges, issues and changing environment for Autism organisations. Lived experience of autism is highly desirable and an appropriate tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
