About us

Bridge Housing is a leading Tier 1 NSW community housing association that sources and develops social and affordable housing for people on moderate-to-low incomes across 14 local government areas in greater Sydney. We have over 2,000 properties housing more than 3,100 residents. 

In 2017 Bridge Housing were awarded the NSW Government tender to manage 1,201 public housing tenancies in the northern beaches for the next 20 years.

About the role

The position has one direct report - the Rent Review Administrator and reports to the Director of Housing. 

The Income Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing Bridge Housings rent review process and ensuring we continuously improve our service delivery and efficiency in this process.

You will also be responsible for identifying services and initiatives aimed at maximising income for residents as well as creating and maintaining partnerships which gives residents access to a wider external financial inclusion of products and services.

This is done by:

  • Raising awareness of financial inclusion issues and services, amongst tenants and colleagues, and act as a lead in developing and providing training.
  • Assisting the General Manager Operations to meet Bridge Housing financial objectives by leading the rent review function and ensuring that the process meets business plan measures to increase revenue.
  • Supporting the improvement of quality service delivery by reviewing and continuously improving Bridge Housing's rent review processes so that it is completed whilst providing the best possible advice and service to tenants.
  • Supporting Bridge Housing's mission to build sustainable communities by developing, a Financial Inclusion Strategy and facilitating its delivery.
  • Growing the services we offer our tenants by developing innovative programs to improve access to financial services for our customers and to maximise their income.

To ensure your success in this role you must have the following skills:

  • Experience managing a small team
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Community Housing Rent Policy and the application of rent setting rules to different programs and incomes.
  • Knowledge of rent review processes and timelines, including rent eligibility assessments, verification of income and legislative compliance.
  • Knowledge of Centrelink and Centrepay processes in relation to rental payments.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder management skills

Salary - $88,162 - $92,125 + Super + Salary Packaging.
