ABOUT THE ROLE

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available of Compliance Officer available at Bridge Housing, based in our Goulburn Street office. The role reports into our General Counsel and Company Secretary, and will support Bridge Housing in ensuring that compliance obligations are met across our regulatory, tax (including charitable status), legal, policy, legislative and risk areas.

Specifically, the role will be responsible for coordinating internal audits and other internal controls required by Bridge Housing as well as managing our Risk Management System, Business Continuity Plan (BCP), regulatory and contract compliance and will work across the business to ensure compliance and identify process and control improvements to improve our compliance outcomes.

The role is also responsible for coordinating and managing adherence to the work health and safety framework, privacy legislation and managing compliance matters associated with the National Rental Affordability System (NRAS).

THIS IS DONE BY:

  • Overseeing the management of Bridge Housings Compliance and Risk Management Framework including our BCP and associated training
  • Monitoring and ensuring polices and procedures are reviewed in line with the review timetable and correctly published on our web site and Intranet.
  • Ensuring compliance with National Regulatory scheme and registration as a tier 1 provider is maintained
  • Ensuring that Bridge Housing complies with its Work, Health and Safety obligations and coordinate the Work Health and Safety Sub Committee meetings and prepare monthly WHS reports.
  • Coordinating the delivery of internal audits and monitor the implementation corrective actions
  • Ensuring the integrity and monitoring of Bridge Housing's fraud and corruption controls and organise reviews and training as required.
  • Overviewing Bridge Housing privacy policy and monitor and report on breaches
  • Managing Bridge Housing Insurance polices, renewals, claims and assist in the management of any litigation or legal issues.
  • Managing compliance with all NRAS requirements
  • Producing monthly reporting of appeals, complaints and identity
  • Providing monthly compliance reports to the Executive and the Board having regard to changes in legislation or regulations

PLEASE RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL CRITERIA IN YOUR COVERING LETTER:

  • Experience developing and implementing Risk Management Systems
  • Knowledge of registration and accreditation processes (CHP desirable)
  • WHS Consultation Certificate
  • Internal Audit Training

Salary and Classification:

This role is classified as a Level 4 within the Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. The salary for the role is $81,590 - $87,788 + Super + Salary Packaging.
