Program Leader - Specialist DV Telephone Service

Breaking the Silence

Breaking the Silence is a unique and innovative organisation, newly established to specifically support people living in regional, rural and remote WA who are impacted by DFV and SA. We know that the isolation of victims within rural and remote communities can both compound the level of domestic violence, while also restricting the ability to access services that are available to provide DFV specialist support. Our new telephone service will be targeted specifically to meet these needs. We will provide locally focussed telephone advice and support which will include information and referrals; safety planning and assessment; single and multi-session counselling and into the future on-line chat and practical case management for people experiencing violence and people using violence in distinct WA regional, rural and remote communities.

About the Role

This is a rare and exciting career opportunity supporting the Executive Officer (EO) in establishing this critical service.

We need a passionate, highly experienced and professional Program Leader to oversee all operational activities, as well as developing and mentoring a small team of skilled practitioners to deliver quality telephone counselling support. Due to the size of the service, the successful applicant will also be required at times, to undertake frontline service delivery activities. Crucial to this role in the establishment phase, is the capacity to travel to remote areas across WA to build collaboration and trust across the sector services. Reporting to the EO and working initially with external specialists (who are assisting in the development of the clinical framework; practice guidelines; workforce planning and systems) this role will ensure we are delivering a quality service and meeting contractual obligations. An amazing opportunity to be heavily involved in advancing the growth and change agenda of this organisation as it evolves and contributing to the safety of people impacted by DFV and SA in rural/regional WA.

This is a Full time contract position to 30 June 2022 based in our new Subiaco office.
