General Manager - Residential Aged Care

Bolton Clarke

Our People & story

Often it’s the small things that make a real ‘people person’ – and these are the people we love to have on our Bolton Clarke team. People who are good listeners. People who genuinely care and are interested in others. Those who look to do the small, everyday things that make a real difference.

Bolton Clarke is the new name of RSL Care and RDNS, now working as one organisation. Together we have provided healthcare services and aged care services for more than 200 years. We are one of the largest Australian owned and operated not-for-profit healthcare and independent living service providers, with a passion for ensuring our customers live the best possible life. We provide reliable, trustworthy, quality care and support and living options across retirement living and residential care.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will provide leadership and direction for the Residential Aged Care (RAC) arm of our business which encompasses 25 care facilities across QLD and NSW. Your primary focus will be in ensuring the services we provide meet the needs of our residents and comply with legislative and accreditation requirements.

With a customer centric mindset, you will ensure the delivery of consistent quality standards across the portfolio and promote initiatives that contribute to an organisation culture and reputation for clinical and care excellence.

Whilst keeping a watchful eye on government policy, consumer trends and other factors which may impact the sustainability of our business, you will be able to act with agility to implement the necessary changes within the RAC portfolio.

You’ll be commercially astute and able to develop business plans, meet targets and work to agreed budgets. A key challenge of this role will be imbedding a commercial mindset within the RAC business, whilst maintaining a high quality of service and ensuring your teams embrace change, all of which will require patience, resilience and a strong ‘people focused’ approach.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will be an AHPRA Registered Nurse who is able to demonstrate a depth of operational senior leadership experience over a large, diverse portfolio of health or care related services, preferably with whole of portfolio responsibility.

Furthermore, you’ll:

  • Have a track record of leading and influencing others coupled with a strong ability to manage resources and exceed targets.
  • Have a higher degree in business or management, or equivalent relevant experience/studies.
  • Be a financially astute, commercial and pragmatic leader with in-depth knowledge of the legislation impacting the aged care / health sector.
  • Be an empathetic, people-centric leader who has a demonstrable track record of enabling your team to thrive and personally develop by challenging them to strive to achieve more.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Federal police check, provide evidence of a recent Influenza vaccination and be able to travel intra or interstate with overnight stays (including weekends) on short notice.
