Blue Knot Foundation is seeking two experienced trauma-informed counsellors to join our Helpline and Redress Team. We provide telehealth services that support adult survivors of complex trauma and/or institutional child abuse, as well as their support people such as partners, family, friends & professionals.

Our experienced and friendly team is comprised of counsellors specialising in complex trauma support and working across both Helpline & Redress services. About the roles

We have two counsellor positions available as follows:

  • 1 x part-time counsellor on a permanent, ongoing basis.
  • 1 x part-time counsellor on a maximum-term contract, ending 30 June 2025. The end date may be extended if related government funding is renewed.

The ordinary working days for both roles are Tuesday, Thursday & Friday each week, plus weekends & public holidays in line with a rotating roster. The working day is 7.5 hours within daytime hours.

They are also covered by the SCHADS Award, with a pay classification of Social and Community Services Employee Level 5 - Pay Point 3.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work or Counselling.
  • Current professional membership with a relevant professional body i.e. ACA, PACFA or AHPRA reflecting more than 2-3 years post-qualification experience as a mental health clinician.
  • Substantial post-qualification direct counselling experience within a telehealth environment, including work with complex trauma clients and demonstrating a significant focus on trauma-informed practice.
  • Knowledge of support and referral pathways for adult survivors of childhood trauma, particularly for ongoing therapeutic and support services. Knowledge of institutional child sexual abuse survivors considering Redress a bonus.
  • Experience in risk assessment, interventions, supporting service users with complex needs and crisis response, as needed.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills competency in Microsoft Office including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook plus CRM data entry. We currently use Salesforce.
