The Role

WHC is looking for a Property Services Manager to take the lead on the delivery of the Assets Maintenance Plan and Strategic Asset Management Plan across their portfolio of 1,100 properties.

With a focus on continuous improvement, relationship management and quality property services, this is a senior management role delivering on strategic objectives and business priorities relating to superior asset management.

Reporting into the Head, Community Housing Operations, the Property Services Manager leads an experienced team of four - two Technical Officers and two Asset Officers, who manage the day-to-day delivery of the planned, responsive and cyclical maintenance programs.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide leadership to the Property Services Team to drive the delivery of high-quality asset management services
  • Actively contribute to the development and delivery of a Strategic Asset Management Plan and Annual Asset Maintenance Plan
  • Develop excellent property data management including reporting on adherence to plans, departmental KPIs and budgets
  • Ensure quality service delivery by developing and implementing systems to monitor and review the work performed by contractors to ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Ensure appropriate management of WHC assets by delivering planned, cyclical, and responsive maintenance programs
  • Demonstrate dynamic planning, insightful reporting, and change management as you operationalise the strategic plan through business planning with your team
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with WHC policies, all legislative and regulatory codes and standards.
  • Ensure Property Services, including contractors, are compliant with both the internal policies and procedures and the National Regulatory System

The role is a hybrid setup with 3 days from the Surry Hills office and 2 days remotely. Occasional travel across WHC's operational area may also be required.

About You

  • At least 5 years' experience in asset management, property services or equivalent
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications i.e. a degree in property, business administration, commerce or related discipline
  • Experience managing a varied and dynamic team
  • Strong data management and analysis skills
  • Experience managing key stakeholder relationships and contracts
  • Technical understanding of general essential services (electrical, plumbing, waterproofing, structural works and leading causes and remedial construction)

In addition, the following are mandatory requirements for this role

  • Current driver's license
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Federal police check
  • A white card is desirable, but not essential
