Primary Purpose of the position

  • Lead the implementation of programs to facilitate consistent health support working practices, collaborating with the Behaviour Support Lead to ensure an integrated approach to delivering outcomes in compliance with the NDIS standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Train and coach staff to up skill quality of client services and risk management across all sites and programs via 1:1, mentoring and training frontline service employees

Accountabilities

  • Provide expert advice and input to the General Manager Quality and Practice Leadership on the development and implementation of the functions policies, practices and procedures and continuous improvement initiatives to meet governance, quality management and client safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with the GM and Behaviour Support Lead in planning the implementation of continuous improvement activities to ensure an integrated cross functional approach to reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of quality, education and client safety policies, procedures and processes governing both behaviour support and health support services.
  • Build educational tools for the planning and delivery of essential training requirements for the health support function.
  • Implement the Quality Management System processes and procedures to ensure compliance with data, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Provide mandatory reports on key operational indicators to inform management decision making.
  • Conduct research and analysis of data to support the development of initiatives that underpin the accreditation requirements of the National Disability Insurance System (NDIS).
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct to assist with associated investigations.

  • Identifying and addressing duplication and other inefficiencies in work activity
  • Balancing the conduct of standard working practice organisational activity and the implementation of continuous improvement priorities

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field (Nursing qualification);
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the disability and/or community service sector;
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to legislative requirements affecting service delivery (e.g. NDIS Quality and Safeguards, WHS, Guardianship etc);
  • Understanding of logistical, ethical and human rights issues affecting people with disability and their significant others;
  • Ability to successfully role-model and work with all levels of teams to apply and embed effective practices and systems;
  • Contemporary expertise in clinical best practice within complex disability or aged care environments; and
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
