The Behaviour Support Manager will provide expert advice on early intervention programs which are supported by a comprehensive set of services including advice, behavioural specialist intervention plans, training for staff, families carers and volunteers.

In this position you will be responsible for ensuring the Behaviour Support Practitioners are providing a high quality positive behaviour support service which reflects the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements. You will provide expert advice on early intervention programs, intervention plans and facilitate training for staff, families, carers and volunteers.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the Psychology, Speech Pathology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, Special Education or equivalent
  • Relevant training in adult learning principles, applied behaviour analysis
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is desirable.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in positive behavioural programming with people with intellectual disability, brain injury and/or learning difficulties
  • Knowledge of issues around people with dual diagnoses, including mental health issues
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to legislative requirements affecting service delivery (e.g. Disability Standards, WHS, Guardianship etc.).
  • Understanding of logistical, ethical and human rights issues affecting people with disability and their significant others;
  • Understanding of current best practice in positive behaviour programming and complex behaviour support
  • Computing skills – especially the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Budget management
  • Leadership and change management skills
  • A current drivers licence and own car.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Sydney area
  • Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Successful applicants will be required to undergo Working with Children Background checks and Police Checks.
