About the role

The Women’s Housing Company has been awarded funding under the Together Home Program to provide housing and case management services to rough sleepers, or those in temporary accommodation. This program aims to transition people into the private rental market and provide access to much needed support services. This role reports directly to the Team Leader, Homelessness Support Services.

Essential criteria

  • Strong case management experience and exposure to working with clients with a variety of complex needs and diverse background
  • Demonstrated application of effective and appropriate communication skills at a high level, including written skills, cultural sensitivity, listening and interviewing
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues that contribute to homelessness and rough sleeping
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in line with the privacy requirements to the role
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member, with a commitment to a building supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Demonstrate a commitment to documentation, data management and record keeping (CIMS)
  • Ability to build connections with other support providers and connect clients to appropriate support services ie local health support, training and employment
  • This is a senior level 5 position in the SCHADS Award. Your experience, compassion and ability to deliver improved outcomes for vulnerable women is essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social services and demonstrated experience in this field, complemented by experience and knowledge of the social and community housing sector and/or employment services
  • NSW Drivers licence
  • Mandatory National Criminal History Check
  • Being female is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
