An experienced case manager is sought for our client, a provider of specialist homelessness services based in Marrickville / Inner West. The client base consists of children and young people aged between 9 and 24, who are experiencing (or at risk of experiencing) homelessness.

The organisation

The Burdekin Association provides a wide range of vital services to young people, providing help and support throughout their youth. Through their innovative practices and programs, they have supported over 3,100 young people and their families over the past 10 years of which 94% are now engaged in education or employment.

Their services are delivered through three key programs:

  1. Out of Home Care – Providing out of home care to children and young people in Burdekin properties with the support of carers
  2. Youth Housing – Providing housing options to young people at risk of homelessness, starting in semi-supported housing with the potential to transition to more independent living
  3. Family and Community – Working to prevent homelessness, family breakdown, out of home placements and reconciliation of family relationship.

The role

The Case Manager works alongside a number of support specialists, youth workers, community partners and other professionals as required, in order to ensure the provision of quality support and accommodation services to young people and their families.

The case management team lead on the referral, assessment, general support, community placement supported accommodation, outreach and aftercare services.

Essential Criteria

  • 2+ years of previous case management experience
  • Relevant degree (minimum diploma) in related field such as community services, youth work, case management
  • Experience of working with children and young people, and people at risk of homelessness
  • Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo Police Check
  • Current NSW Driver Licence
