Biripi Aboriginal Corporation Medical Centre provides a wide range of culturally-appropriate health and well-being services covering communities across the mid-northern NSW region. These include Clinical, Maternal Health, Aged Care, Community Health and Dental Health services from clinics and facilities around Taree and statutory Out of Home Care (OOHC) through Biripi Aboriginal Children Services (BACS) in Taree and Walanbaa Gaayili in Inverell. 

Biripi has recently undergone many positive changes and is flourishing with new funding and service provision opportunities. In this role you will report directly to the Board of Directors to continue on this path and provide culturally appropriate, high-quality services to the Aboriginal community.

The key objectives of the role also include to:

  • Ensure the organisation is a leader in delivering outstanding business operations, risk management and financial performance;
  • Establish core organisational values in conjunction with the Board of Directors and ensuring these values are fully integrated;
  • Provide high-quality service standards and develop systems to build key relationships and improve operational efficiency;
  • Oversee all functions within the organisation and provide direction and guidance to the organisation as a whole; and
  • Contribute to the operational and strategic decision-making process and provide authoritative advice to the Board of Directors.

A strong leadership flair is essential as is extensive experience in management at a senior leadership level, preferably with an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation.

If you also have:

  • Post Graduate Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Management, Finance, Health or similar discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health issues impacting upon the health status of Aboriginal communities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and achievement of strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring an effective management system, policy and procedure framework and financial system for an organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team at a senior level
  • High level of computer literacy; sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
