About the role

The Volunteer Framework Development Project Officer will work within the Community Programs team to develop a volunteer framework specific to Banyule Community Health (BCH).

The framework will reflect BCH values and our strategic direction for 2020-2025, ensuring BCH develops a volunteer framework that is inclusive, sustainable and in line with BCH policies and procedures and the National Standards for Volunteering. The Volunteer Framework Development Project Officer will also be responsible for developing all relevant resources required to implement the framework and run the volunteer program.

The ability to form strong working relationships with all stakeholders (including current volunteer coordinators, volunteers, community members and BCH leadership) to help define the framework will be crucial to the success of this project. Extensive knowledge of diverse volunteer programs and principles and the National Standards for Volunteer will ensure the framework will support a robust, lively and best practice volunteer program for BCH volunteers and the BCH community.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in community development, social work or health-related field
  • Working knowledge and experience of developing and implementing volunteer programs in the community sector
  • Working knowledge of the National Standards of Volunteering

The Community Programs team aims to reduce health and social inequity by building the capacity of individuals and the community. Driven by principles of person-centred care, self-management and community engagement, the team provides a range of programs across different population groups. Community Programs deliver dynamic and diverse services with demonstrable outcomes for marginalised and at-risk populations, focusing on improving their health within a holistic perspective. The Quality Team works across BCH to lead systems and processes on strategic development, risk management, clinical governance, legislative compliance, quality assurance, accreditation, research and evaluation and communications.

BCH services are underpinned by social and public models of health.
