Banyule Community Health is seeking to employ an experienced, enthusiastic and highly skilled part time Infection Control Officer to work as part the Quality Team.

Banyule Community Health operates Medical, Podiatry and Dental clinics on site, with some mobile services under development. Additionally, the organisation provides COVID Testing and Vaccination services and provides COVID related supports to vulnerable communities across the catchment. Each clinical area is required to operate within best practice standards, legislative compliance, and contractual obligations.

The Infection Control Officer will play a pivotal role in helping to drive high standards of infection control across the organisation.

Your motivation, interpersonal skills, and expertise as an Infection Control Officer will see you excel in this role as you:

  • Convene the Infection Control Meeting
  • Maintain and review (as required) the relevant Policies and Procedures
  • Support Banyule Community Health Infection Control Auditing program
  • Monitor Infection Control Compliance across the agency
  • Support the review of relevant risks on the organisations Risk Register
  • Support the implementation of training in relevant areas
  • Prepare the Infection Control Reports for the agency

What you will need:

  • Sound knowledge of the ACSQH Infection Control Standards, legislation and best practice guidelines in the development of policies, procedures and organisational practice in a primary health care setting.
  • Ability to undertake a gap analysis, development and implementation of action plans across a multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate change and innovation within a multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Highly developed project skills including, organisational skills, time management and capacity to manage concurrent tasks.
  • A broad understanding of risk management frameworks and quality assurance systems in relation to infection control in primary care settings.
  • A minimum bachelor's degree in a health field discipline or relevant Infection Control certification
