Banyule Community Health is looking to recruit a highly motivated, and skilled Social Worker or Community Development worker to deliver high quality, person centred support to clients of the local Psycho Social Support Program led by Wellways. This new role will help people navigate and link into services that support their health and wellbeing. This is a great opportunity to work in a professional and supportive team based environment alongside experienced Counsellors, Mental Health Nurses, Peer Support Workers and Care Coordinators in the Stepped Care for Mental Health programs. The position is part time, for 3 days per week from April to December 2021. The role involves working from West Heidelberg and Greensborough sites, as well as Community Outreach.

Your motivation, interpersonal skills, and expertise as a Social Worker or Community Development Worker will see you excel in this role as you:

  • Play a pivotal role in facilitating access to health screening and services for people with enduring mental illness
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to work on agreed goals and optimise health and wellbeing.
  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

What you will need:

  • Social Work qualifications and full AHPRA registration OR Community Development qualifications
  • Experience in working with people of all ages and CALD backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills
