Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high-quality housing to an innovative range of support, education, and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research, and innovation to drive widespread change.

The role

The Senior Worker - Youth Support Services position provides high-quality assistance to the immediate and ongoing support needs of young people with complex needs as well as support, secondary consult and mentoring to other staff members within the team. The senior worker youth support services will also provide additional leadership support to their line manage

As a member of the Creating Connections Consortium, one of the key responsibilities of this role is to assist with the immediate and ongoing support needs of a caseload of young people (15-25) that are at risk of, or currently experiencing, homelessness. This primarily consists of providing a range of flexible support services and high-level coordination to clients, through an intensive case management model to maximise independence and minimise service dependence.

Please note this position will be based in South Yarra until relocation to Cheltenham occurs in late March 2021.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification in human services, and/or direct experience working in youth services and an understanding of the challenges that face young people of this background. You will also have good interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others towards effective client solutions. You will have an unwavering belief in young people, be an outstanding role model to fellow staff, have experience in leadership with the provision of building a positive team culture.
