Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high-quality housing to an innovative range of support, education and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk of - or experiencing the crisis and trauma of - homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research and innovation to drive widespread change.

The role

Launch Housing has a unique role for a registered psychologist to provide outreach counselling and educational assessments to children and families who have experienced homelessness and/or family violence. Children and parents are seen within the home and school environments and this service is largely delivered throughout the Southern Region of Melbourne.

The role requires the psychologist to be experienced in undertaking the WIAT-III, WISC-V, and Vineland -III for children / young people. It requires the psychologist to assist in the development and implementation of education plans, working directly with schools and parents, with the goal to reduce lost learning time and improve the educational and well-being outcomes.

You must be able to work autonomously and within a team environment. Demonstrated experience and skills in working with children and parents who have experienced homelessness and or family violence are highly desirable.

You will need:

  • Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist
  • Eligibility for rebates through Medicare and familiarity of the Medicare reporting requirements and processes
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance and ABN

Applicants must be willing to work in a contracting role, working some after-hours appointments and to work within a Family Systems Model.
