About Launch Housing

Launch Housing is a secular Melbourne-based community organisation that provides homelessness services and life-changing housing supports to disadvantages Victorians. With over 400 staff working across 13 locations, we want to end homelessness and are committed to creating lasting societal change to help those most in need in our community. In a country as wealthy as ours no one should be homeless.

Launch Housing is delivering a high-impact strategy that aims to reduce homelessness in Melbourne with strong government support for new solutions to build more social housing and to reverse the rate of people sleeping rough.

COVID has seen our mission to end homelessness come under the spotlight. The crisis has demonstrated that our own health is intimately connected to the health of the person next to us and that everyone needs shelter. Many in the community have or are experiencing some form of economic or housing insecurity and the latest research confirms that attitudes to homelessness have softened. And as our city approaches a new covid-normal and seeks to rejuvenate our community, we are at the forefront of asking how our city can now be liveable for everyone.

We want skilled leaders to help us be an organisation that empowers fresh thinking, agility and displays courage. If you are this person, read on….

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager of Campaigns & Engagement, the Marketing & Community Engagement Manager is a senior member of the Campaigns & Engagement (C&E) team.

The C&E team aims to galvanise communities into action to end homelessness, to raise funds for our critical programs, and to challenge the stigma that surrounds people experiencing homelessness (See appendix for team structure). This role is central to all these strategies and through marketing and campaign expertise, brings new and existing supporters together to discuss, share, donate and act to end homelessness in Melbourne.

The role is both strategic - providing though leadership, guidance and oversight to all our marketing efforts - and very hands-on in operationalising and delivering campaigns and plans. The role works across media and PR, events, digital engagement and across the marketing mix, guiding our content and storytelling strategy and developing multiple forms of community engagement including building our volunteering program.

About you

We are seeking an inspirational campaign leader, one with the creativity, innovation and strategic foresight to create a movement to inspire change.
