About us

Launch Housing has an ambitious and singular mission to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness. We are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and the go-to organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.

About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate individual to join our dedicated Initial, Assessment, and Planning (IAP) team committed to working with people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.

Our IAP Service is Launch Housing's first point of contact with our clients. The role of staff in this team is to provide assessments, information, referrals, and support to assist families and individuals to find short term and long term, secure and affordable housing.

The IAP team operate in a high volume service environment, responding to the needs of homeless people, many of whom are experiencing a crisis. Therefore, we are looking for people who can work under pressure with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be empathetic and able to relate effectively and sensitively to people from diverse backgrounds. You will use assessments to drive planning and outcomes with clients. You will be tertiary qualified in human services, social work or other relevant discipline and have a comprehensive understanding of the issues which those experiencing homelessness confront. A track record of working well in a team environment is also vital.

In return, you will be offered a competitive salary, salary packaging and generous staff benefits such as additional leave days, development opportunities and a great culture. But most of all, you'll love knowing that your contribution actually makes a real difference.

If you would like additional information regarding this role, please contact Silvana Butto on 03 9556 5777
