Who we are

We are an independent provider of choice for clients and the ‘go to' organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community. Clients are at the centre of everything we do and are actively and meaningfully involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of services as well as our policy development, public advocacy and fundraising.

Our people are the backbone of our organisation and supporting their wellbeing and professional development is critical to our ability to help our clients. We value lived experience and diversity in our staff, and actively work to ensure everyone is able to make their career with Launch fulfilling.

What you'll do

Launch Housing has a fixed term position available within our Initial Assessment and Planning (IAP) team, for an individual committed to working with people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.

Our IAP Service is Launch Housing's first point of contact with our clients. The key responsibilities of this role include providing information, referrals and support to assist families and individuals to find short term and long term, secure and affordable housing.

This role will be part of a team of Courts outpost workers who are meeting the requirements of housing engagement for those engaged with the relevant Courts Services programs.

The service is extremely high volume, responding to the needs of homeless people, many of whom are experiencing crisis. Therefore, we are looking for people who can work under pressure with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.

Who we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will be empathetic and able to relate effectively and sensitively to people from diverse backgrounds. A track record of working well in a team environment is also vital.
