With over 400 staff working across 14 locations, we want to end homelessness and are committed to creating lasting social change to help those most in need in our community. In a country as wealthy as ours no one should be homeless.

Launch Housing is delivering a high-impact strategy that aims to reduce homelessness in Melbourne with strong government support for new solutions to build more social housing and to reverse the rate of people sleeping rough.

The Southbank residential facility includes 46 rooms, 41 for singles and 5 for couples. The services include temporary accommodation, case management, transitional support and other services to get people experiencing homelessness housed.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Case Management Team Leader, you will assist with the immediate and ongoing support needs of clients experiencing or at risk of homelessness, through the provision of a range of intervention options ensuring that the client's needs are translated into a personal program that encourages the client's independence, empowerment, autonomy and dignity. This support may be provided in a range of environments including funded accommodation services, private housing or via assertive outreach to clients experiencing housing crisis.

In this role you will:

  • Develop case plans in conjunction with clients and implement strategies that enable clients to achieve their goals by building on their strengths and focusing on solutions
  • Assist clients to develop long term housing options, both within and/or independently of Launch Housing's supported accommodation program
  • Ensure clients maximise all government and community income assistance and support
  • Initiate and maintain contact with vulnerable clients using flexible engagement strategies to achieve case plan goals

Who you are:

To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for working with people experiencing homelessness and a determination to deliver innovative and effective services of the highest possible standard to our clients. You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in human services, social work or related field
  • Previous experience working with clients with complex needs relating to homelessness
  • Understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Our Benefits:

We believe housing is a basic human right and our values of empowerment, fresh thinking, agility, leadership and courage underpin everything we do. If you want a career where you can make a real difference, and you are passionate about our mission to end homelessness, then consider working with Launch Housing! Our employees are spread across 14 different sites within metropolitan Melbourne.

We offer great staff benefits including:
