We are looking for a Senior Youth Mental Health Worker to join our YAMHS team in Palmerston.

The Youth and Mental Health Service (YAMHS) is delivered by CatholicCare NT (CCNT) to provide a service to young people at risk of, or who are experiencing mental illness. YAMHS is designed to increase service access to improve the chances of recovery and longer term social and emotional health and wellbeing. YAMHS engages with young people, their family and carers to improve their knowledge and understanding of the impact of mental illness. YAMHS does this by working collaboratively with the young person, family, carers and stakeholders and by providing assessment, casework and specialist mental health liaison and community education.

Key Responsibilities include:

The Senior Youth Mental Health Worker is responsible to practice under limited supervision to provide specialist mental health assessment, therapeutic interventions, clinical review and case presentations. The position utilises skills and knowledge to work with participants, their families and carers to develop recovery goals, and care plans within a set timeframe; all whilst ensuring a high standard of service delivery. The Senior Youth Mental Health Worker provides practice support to other YAMHS team members under the guidance of an identified Lead Practitioner.

The Senior Youth Mental Health Worker leads YAMHS in establishing and maintaining collaborative care pathways with internal and external stakeholders.

The Senior Youth Mental Health Worker is a specialist position that provides consultancy across other CCNT programs and participant processes.
