We are looking for a driven support focused Mental Health professional with the capability to practice under limited supervision to provide specialist mental health assessment, therapeutic interventions, clinical review and case presentations.

You will be working with the TATS program. TATS is designed to increase service access to improve the chances of recovery and longer-term social and emotional health and wellbeing. TATS engages with participants, their family and carers to improve their knowledge and understanding of suicide prevention. TATS does this by working collaboratively with the participant, family, carers and stakeholders and by providing assessment, casework and specialist mental health liaison and community education.

The position utilises skills and knowledge to work with participants, their families and carers to develop recovery goals, and care plans within a set timeframe; all whilst ensuring a high standard of service delivery. The Senior Mental Health Worker provides practice support to other team members under the guidance of an identified Lead Practitioner.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Relevant qualification in Psychology/Social Work/Nursing/Occupational therapy and a strong working history within the Youth Mental Health sector
  2. Proven clinical skills in the provision of mental health care to young people, including mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions and care plan development
  3. Working knowledge of the common social and mental health issues faced by young people
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing and case note writing
  5. Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
  6. Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Commitment to program and practice evaluation activities
