We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Practitioner Intensive Family Parenting Service, to join our Malak team in Darwin CatholicCare NT.

The Lead Practitioner is responsible for the implementation, leadership, and integration of the Intensive Family and Parenting Service in order for the program to meet its objectives. Program portfolios may be subject to change within the contract period. This position has a particular focus on leading and mentoring program staff, applying professional knowledge and support whilst providing direct services, and managing complex client work.

The objectives of the program are:

  • Protect children from harm.
  • Reduce child safety concerns.
  • Build resilience and capability in referred families to care for and protect their child.
  • Preserve the family and allow the child to live safely at home.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing High quality, responsive case management.
  • Developing and maintaining services and programs based on evidence of best practice.
  • Overseeing service delivery of the program team/s and the allocation of service requests.
  • Providing support and guidance to ensure the team delivers high-quality responsive casework and services.
  • Provide supervision to staff.

We are looking for a person with:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Work and minimum five years' experience in relevant practice and team leadership; or is otherwise a person possessing such experience, or holding such qualifications deemed by the employer or the relevant legislation to be appropriate or required for the position.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills encompassing report writing, case note writing and supervision and the ability to communicate effectively with managers, staff and stakeholders across a range of diverse cultural groups and settings.
  • Experience in recording and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data in line with program requirements and leading a team to do the same.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
  • Experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff.
