We are looking for a Case Manager to join our Tennant Creek Children & Parenting team.

Children and Parenting is an early intervention program designed to support children, young people and families. The program has a particular focus on working with families and the wider community to ensure that children and young people are safe, nurtured, and engage in positive play experiences that promote development, increased confidence, and improved mental health and wellbeing.

The intended outcomes include:

  • Increased wellbeing of children 0-12
  • Increased parenting knowledge and skills
  • Increased parent-child secure attachment
  • Increased safety for children and families

The program is delivered in Tennant Creek, which includes some surrounding communities.

The Case Manager is responsible for providing in-house and outreach strengths-based case management, mentoring, advocacy, parent education and practical support in order for the program to meet its objectives.

This position has a particular focus on Aboriginal families, therefore, must be competent in delivering the program in a culturally safe way.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Work, Community Development, Early Childhood and /or Psychology
  • Demonstrated ability to apply early intervention and prevention activities that support the wellbeing of children, young people and families
  • Demonstrated ability to network effectively with other agencies to support a community approach to wellbeing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
