Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provide integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.
The Community Acute Intervention Service is a 7 day a week team working across two shifts. The team is a tertiary-level multidisciplinary mental health drug and alcohol team. Its aim is to provide timely and effective assessment, treatment and support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or AOD needs up to a maximum of a 28-day period.
We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated senior clinicians with alcohol and other drug assessment and treatment expertise to be part of the Community Acute Intervention Service outreach team. You will provide community assessment and treatment for people in the acute phase of their AOD use. This includes working with consumers and their caregivers, providing expert assessment and intervention; developing a plan of care; working with the organisation as a resource, and acting as a link between the community acute intervention service outreach team and alcohol and other drug services (public and private, hospital and community).
You will also demonstrate leadership in both the ongoing development of the acute intervention service and day-day operations of the team. The role participates in the 7 day a week, 2 shift (am and pm shifts) roster.
