About the Role:

Our teams are growing, and we require an experienced Senior Case Manager in our Clinical care team with skills in providing front line support to Foster Carers. You will be working closely with other service providers and Anglicare staff to promote wellbeing and excellence in foster carer experience at Anglicare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures consistency and best practice by developing and supporting Anglicare’s clinical practice and therapeutic interventions for families who foster.
  • Ensures Foster Carers are well resourced by developing and conducting therapeutic training. This includes facilitating training programs and building Carer Development Plans.
  • Ensures Foster Carers are well supported by facilitating events and groups for families who foster, including Foster Carers and their biological children.
  • Ensures Foster Carers are well supported by providing 1:1 supportive counselling and placement debriefs as needed.
  • Ensures access to appropriate information and resources for foster carers. This includes contributing to Anglicare’s bi-monthly Carer Newsletter and providing recommendations of services or resources as needed.
  • Contributes to the support and training of foster care staff by assisting with internal professional development activities. Including supervision of students and casual staff
  • Ensures stakeholders are actively engaged and well supported by establishing positive relationships with the child, carers, birth parents and others as required.
  • Ensures that all parties are involved in implementing the current case plan by clearly communicating roles and responsibilities and by actively assessing and monitoring risks and progress towards agreed case plan goals of restoration, guardianship, adoption or long-term foster care.
  • Ensures all carers maintain required Standards through foster carer training, assessments and reviews, with a focus on supporting the needs children with complex needs.
  • Ensures client information is reviewed regularly and kept up to date by completing reports and file documentation in accordance with OOHC and agency requirements.
  • Contributes to carer excellence through regular carer experience evaluation and quality improvement activities.
  • Ensures ongoing professional development by attending relevant internal and external consultations, training, forums, courses and other professional development activities as agreed with Manager.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of OOHC by assisting with policies, procedures and work practices.
  • Contribute to the safety culture by keeping the workplace safe, clean and tidy, complying always with safe work practices, participating in workplace consultation activities, actively participating in safety activities, including hazard and incident reporting as prescribed in the WHSIMS.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in working with all parties in the foster care system
  • Understanding of practices in the areas of developmental trauma, attachment and reparative care
  • Demonstrated skills in supportive counselling, group facilitation and psychoeducation
  • Demonstrated skills in supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
