About the role

Anglicare provides support for vulnerable and disadvantage families through a range of programs offered in various areas.

Anglicare has an exciting opportunity for a permanent part-time Family Worker, 3 days per week, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (days can be flexible) 9am till 5pm to join our dynamic team culture. In this role you will be providing case management and group work services to clients by supporting, advocacy and referral pathways with local service providers.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Ensure that case management plans are prepared on a strengths-based approach by engaging clients in the development of their plan. This includes ensuring the plan is clearly defined and with achievable outcomes.
  • Advocating for clients, establishing strong networks within the local area in order to provide strong external referral pathways and developing strong partnerships.
  • Provide up to date information to the team about other facilities, programs etc. in the local community.
  • Ensure documentation, reports and data collection meet organisational, legislative and funding requirements by completing and maintaining appropriate client documentation and statistical information.
  • Ensure the program is well known in the local community, including parishes, by conducting promotional activities and attending community forums and network meetings.
  • Attend relevant training, forums, courses and other professional development activities as agreed with Manager.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the program by assisting with procedures and work practices.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. Cert III Community Services, Social work, Psychology, Counselling and Community Welfare.
  • NSW Drivers licence and working with children’s check
  • Knowledge and awareness of the dynamics and social and emotional needs of families and expertise in developing strategies to meet those needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients from different and varied backgrounds, including CALD and Indigenous communities
  • Understand issues effecting vulnerable and disadvantaged clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt
